I'm tired this evening, so this will be a quick update that I hope to add to later. Today, we also went further than planned and even made a stop that wasn't on our agenda. We are in Dickson, TN - just west of Nashville. In Louisville, we stopped at the Louisville Slugger factory and museum.

The area between Columbus and Cincinnati was flat farmland. In Mason, OH we drove by the Southern & Western tennis facility. We also drove by the Cincinnati Reds Stadium and the Paul Brown football stadium. In northern Kentucky, we drove by the Kentucky Speedway in Galletin County. Much of Kentucky and Tennessee was a lot like "back home" - rolling hills.

We were trying to decide where we wanted to stop to sight see in Kentucky as we were ahead of schedule and had at least two hours we could utilize. We were trying to decide between Mammoth Cave National Park (after all it is a National Park....but what would we learn/see that we didn't know from visiting Howe Caverns in NY?) or the Jim Beam Bourbon factory, tour, and tasting. Just as we had decided on Jim Beam, I realized that we would be driving right through Louisville, home of the Louisville Slugger baseball bat!

We had a wonderful visit to the factory, learned a lot, and we each got to hold a genuine Louisville Slugger bat, get a miniature bat, AND stand next to Derek Jeter! Do you know what type of wood about 80% of the bats are made of?
