There is SO much planning that has gone into this trip. This trip was originally planned for 2017, but we didn't know then that we would be buying a new house instead and moving 60 miles away to be closer to our children and grandchildren when the trip was planned. 2018 brought us a chance to tour Hawaii with a group of people from the Syracuse area...so we postponed our cross country trip for one more year.

We started planning for this trip again in January 2019. We found it more difficult to plan the schedule based on needing to be at all six baseball stadiums when they had a home game and making sure it was feasible to be in that city at the correct day and time. We found we needed to add extra days to our trip so that we were able to shorten most of the driving times each day to allow for more frequent stops for rest breaks. Since I don't typically travel well, despite loving to see new things and places, breaks from riding and driving in the car along with stopping earlier in the evening should help me immensely. For Bill, frequent breaks will be a necessity after he developed a DVT in his leg after flying back from Hawaii. Although still on medication, we will be keeping a close eye on his leg.
